Body Scan
A body scan is where you focus on different parts of your body starting at the top of your body, or at the bottom, and moving body-part-by-body-part to the other end. It is best if you do your body scan while laying down, however, sitting in a comfortable position can work as well.

Extension Ideas:
- Perform the body scan before doing an activity that takes a lot of focus, such as a test.
- Students may tense and squeeze each part of the body as their attention is drawn to it. This helps to release tension.
- Students may fill out a brief journal entry comparing how they felt before vs. after the body scan.
- The body scan could be done in conjunction with another activity, and could act as a cool-down.
