My education at the University of Lethbridge, along with my teaching experience from my three practicums, has provided me with a thorough understanding of my professional obligations as a teacher. I strive to conduct myself in a professional manner each and every day, in all areas of my life.

In endeavor to participate in and contribute to the school communities that I am a part of in a multitude of small, and large ways. These ways include, but are not limited to:
|
KSA #14Teachers understand the importance of contributing to the quality of their school to benefit students, parents, community and colleagues.
|
I am a very reflective educator. I am forever writing little notes to myself on lesson plans, or in my various scribblers about my students, lessons, and activities. I find constant reflection helps me to improve my own practices.
I also find observing other educators, and reflecting on those experiences to be invaluable to my own teaching practices. Observing other experts at work is both inspiring, and educational. I find that I learn a lot by seeing what others are doing. Which is why I always jump at the chance to be involved in others classrooms, as well as to listen to other educators share their experiences in conferences. Additionally, I also participate in more formal reflective practices such as setting professional goals for myself. Click here to view my Professional Growth Plan from my PSIII practicum. |
KSA #15Teachers assess their own teaching, collaborate with others, and assist to evaluate other educators to better improve their own practice.
KSA #16Teachers are able to communicate their vision, including how it has changed as a result of knowledge, understanding, and experience.
