Focused Breathing
Focused breathing is just how it sounds. It is focusing on the breaths that you take as they enter and then exit your body.
Using one of the links above, or a link similar, is probably a good idea when you first introduce your students to focused breathing. After the initial few times, it should be enough just to ask students to focus on their breathing and to give them time to self-regulate the exercise. |
Extension Activities:
- Older students could lead focused breath activities, or even teach them to younger students.
- Add in relaxing music and breathe while you listen to it.
- Add in music with a steady tempo and see if you can match your breathing to it.
- Reflect on breathing in a discussion.
- Watch a video on breathing whether the air goes once it enters your body - so students can better visualize it.
