Human Camera
The human camera mindfulness activity involves students working in pairs. One student closes their eyes, and allows for the other student to direct them to a location. Once the second student has the first student in the desired location, the second student gently squeezes the first student's shoulders. The first student opens their eyes - and without moving their head - takes a mental "picture" of what they see.
Repeat a few times and then switch partners. For a more detailed overview, click here: Human Camera_ |
Extension Ideas:
- Students could draw one of the three "pictures" that they took.
- Students could journal about the experience.
- Students could write and describe something that they saw.
- Students could discuss what they saw and compare what the human camera remembers about the scene vs. what their partner remembers.
